Does anyone know if its [possible

to have dsl and cable internet in the same house?

  • I dont know why not. The dsl comes through the phone line and the cable obviously comes from cable.

  • Yes, you can use DSL as a back up in case cable goes out or vice versa.

  • Oh cuz, my sister is moving in we already have dsl.. she wants to transfer her cable internet. Its silly cuz, I have a wireless router and we could share! Just curious thats all.

  • Why do you want both? DSL is faster because you are not sharing with anyone else. If you get a wireless router you can have more than one computer online at the same time without compromising your speed. My DH loves his DSL and would not trade it for cable. DSL offers a secure connection and rarely goes out because it usually is offered by your local phone company thru the central office (the hub for lanline service in a specific area of town.)
