  • There are usually free days at local zoos. Go to the beach. Set up a kiddie pool or a sprinkler & let the little ones run wild. Library playtimes.

  • go to and see if there are any bowling alleys participating in your area. You can rent movies at the library. I know at least 2 churches in our area do a lot of free things for kids and adults in the community on 4th of July where you can sit and watch the fireworks. Have a potluck BBQ at your house?

  • put up a pool, sprinkler or slip n slide in the yard, play with squirt guns, go to the park, the beach, the zoo, go out for an ice cream cone and eat it in the park, go to the kiddie wading pool (depending on how old your kids are), rent a movie, go to the library, watch 4th of July fireworks....
