My reicpe calls for quick cook barley... I have pearled barley....what now?

this is a recipe for asparagus barley 'risotto' I didn't realized it called for quick cook... I didn't even know that existed! lol. How do I adapt this recipe. Barley is still kind of new to me.

  • The pearled barley will take extra liquid, and of course take longer to cook. It should work fine for your recipe, just don't add the asparagus & whatnot til the barley is almost done cooking. Quick cook barley is kind of like oats - it's rolled or smashed or whatever so it doesn't come out the same. I prefer the real stuff.
