  • I don't know.....I thought "Feminists" believe in abortion and think women should be in charge of their own bodies and not let anyone tell them what to do?

  • I have to agree. Not only are gender-related abortions performed regularly in other countries, but here, at best, we are looking at half of abortions aborting female babies. Guess those young ladies don't get a choice on how their body is treated.

  • First wave feminists were pro life. If you think abortion is woman's rights issue, tell that to the millions of baby girls are killed each year from this form of eugenics.

  • minne .... I have no problem with a woman controlling her own body. But I have a HUGE problem when she exerts that control over another body.

So, you think a woman is exerting control over another's body when she has an abortion? Interesting.
I am pro-choice so I don't quite understand this philosophy. It should be a woman's choice.

  • If a woman in CHINA wants to abort a specific sex, that is wrong but it is THEIR country, not ours and I don't see how we can do anything about it.
FEMINISM? WHat does that have to do with China? OUR American women who call themselves "Feminists" are pro-choice but they don't selectively abort because of the baby's gender/sex.
WHy don'tt we concentrate on OUR country.

  • I've heard the author interviewed before. I think the WSJ writer reaches the wrong conclusion. The problem is not that abortion is available; even if born many of those baby girls will be doomed to abandonment or murder. The problem is the acceptance of the idea that girls are lesser than boys.
