Should I pop a blood blister on my finger?

Or just keep applying pressure?

  • Don't Pop!

Intact skin keeps germs out. Its like the best bandaid you could ever wish for. Your body will reabsorb the blood. It will neither feel better or heal faster if you pop it. I don't know what you do for a living but MRSA is everyware and as a nurse an open area on my hand is my worst enemy.

Resist the temptation, you won't be sorry!!!

  • Neither. Just leave it alone.

  • Leave it alone... popping it will introduce bacteria into the wound. It will heal on its own.

  • Heh. I'm one of the people who would clean it with rubbing alcohol and iodine, then pop it with a sterile lancet, and then cover it with gauze.
But then again, I'm weird. You probably should leave it alone, as in, stop applying pressure to it too. I don't know what that's supposed to accomplish.
