  • YEs, many babies start babyfood at that time. SOme people choose to wait longer though. I started my son at 4 months.

  • Mine started slightly before that age because formula alone wasn't cutting it.

  • I made my own, but didn't start baby food until 6 months. Your dr should advise you when they recommend you to start solids.

  • Our pediatrician recommended waiting until 6 months. Until then, breastfeeding or formula feeding gives them what they need.

  • With DD, the doctor suggested starting solids at 4 month due to her weight. With her brothers, I started at 6.5 months as I didn't want to start solids just before Christmas and have to bring highchairs, spoons, etc X 2 when we went visiting.

  • Started my first two slightly before 4 months because they were hungry like every hour all day and night. They obviously needed more than what formula and bf was giving them. I gave them mashed potatoe (made it the consistancy of baby food bananas), and also when I fixed our food , I took some out before adding salt or seasoning and put it in the blender for them. Worked great and was a lot healthier than the processed baby foods.

  • 4-6 months is recommended for first solids. If you starteed cereal at three months, baby is ALREADY on baby food.

Jars are never needed. Just mash a banana. Done. Mash an avocado. Done. Mash a potato. Done. And all more nutritious than the jars.
