Baby weight at 33 weeks pregnant?

im currently 33 weeks pregnant and the docter says my baby weighs 2.6 kgs. It sounds alot for a baby in a tummy, coz my mom says that when i was born i weighed that much,is it too much for a baby at 33 weeks?

  • 5.73lbs is 2.6kgs Thats normal.. some babies are small some bigger it depends on the baby and how healthy the mom is. how soon the baby comes out,.. my nephew was smaller then that when he was born :P.. my kids were bigger. so my kids were prob that size at 33 weeks

  • At my 32 wk appt I think it was my son weighed 7.5 lbs according to the ultrasound tech at 20 weeks he was 5.5lbs.... he only ended up being 8.1 at birth

  • It is a Guesstimate and mode of measuring isn't accurate...
    So have fun exploring and playing around with it, don't take it too seriously.
    Avoiding unnecessary interventions ( like U/Ss and vagnal exams) is good, too, as these can bring confusing and misunderstanding. Needless worry.
