Have you flown on an airplane with a cast?

My dd is flying on a plane with a cast on her arm and i'm reading about swelling or pain with pressure change. What was your experience? I'm waiting for a call back from the doctors office so please don't tell me to "call doc". Oh, and airline said no regulations or special policies regarding casts so i'm just looking for personal experience.

  • You're welcome :) I think she'll do just fine. If I remember right, I think I flew only about a month after I broke my ankle too. I broke it on Thanksgiving, and flew out to see my dad around Christmas.

  • I've never personally experienced it, but a cast isn't totally enclosed on your arm like a bottle of soda would be totally closed you know? So I don't see how the pressure would affect her arm....

  • When I was 15 I flew with a broken leg and it didn't bother me at all.
