  • I have a female family dr. but a male obgyn. I love him and wouldn't go to anyone else. I'm more wierded out by a female gynocologist for some reason. lol

  • i had a male dr (internal medicine) an a female obgyn.. i think for ob's i feel more comfy with a female since you know they have the same parts! haha but for a general dr.. i think a male is fine, hubby didnt really have a say since the internal medicine dr was around way before he(hubby) was. but for the obgyn we both picked the dr an we both just happen to like the female

  • I have a male gyno. If I were still married, it would not be DH's choice to make.

The flip side of not being comfortable after marriage - does that mean I should be because I'm single? There's no logic to that.

  • I have no problem with male doctors and my husband has no problem with me going to a male doctor.  I don't have a problem with him going to a female doctor either.  Our health is our primary concern not a doctor's gender.

  • I forgot to answer half the question lol. My dh has no say, and it's never been brought up, about me having a male dr. That person is a professional so i don't see where anyone would have a problem. My gynocologist is actually a hottie lol. But it's more of a joke between us, if your dh can't trust you at the dr. then there are bigger problems lol I will say this thought, my dad will not let a female dr. see him for anything other than general stuff. He had an anal fistula years ago (he's got Crohns Disease) and at the ER a female came in to examine him. He was respectful, but said he wouldn't let a female examine him down there. He's a preacher and very modest. I've never even seen him with his shirt off.
