  • Genesis 14-19 tell about Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah and God's judgement there.

There was a lot wrong with Sodom and Gomorrah; the sexual sin was one part.

The most explicit statement of why S & G were destroyed (besides the not finding of 10 righteous men)(at least that I know of) is from Ezekiel:
"Now this was the sin of Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. —Ezekiel 16:49-50"

  • There are many who believe that it had more to do with inhospitality (something like that) than with sodomy.... ;)

  • meaning sodomy wasn't THE sin that got them destroyed, it was a combination of their immoral non remorseful habits
