Im pretty sure I just heard my babys (33 wks) practice breaths!!

My husband and I where trying to find her heartbeat with his stethoscope and hear wheezing noises that would get really loud then soft or even stop then start again, get loud stop, then would be really slow to really fast and so on and so fourth. Its was the craziest thing :) and so precious!!

  • Though babies do not RELY on their own breathing while in utero, they do PRACTICE breathing (that is go through the motions), which would pass more fluid through their lungs. One would assume that this might make a noise...but thanks anon

  • When I was pregnant I would often hear pops in my belly. My Husband heard them a few times too. Our Midwife couldn't tell us what it was, but she did say other ladies had told her the same thing before. Maybe it was something like this!

  • When babies are in utero, they have embryonic fluid in their lungs and can't breathe lol.
