This may be a dumb question.....

I have a recipe that calls for kiwi. I have never eaten it before. The center is sort of tough. Are you supposed to remove that part?

  • When fully ripe, the center will be very soft. If you need it now in the recipe, then just cut off the tough part, but it probably won't taste as sweet as it would if it were ready.

    The kiwi should feel slightly soft (like a ripe avocado), when you hold it.

    It is so hard to tell!!!!

  • I have never had the center be tough - it's always sweeter IMO, my favorite part.
