  • I don't have them, but they run in both sides of my family. They always skip a generation. My generation was the skip. :)

  • I don't have twins, but I am a twin. Identical. There is no family history on either side of any kind of twins. I have heard that fraternal twins is something a woman can be pre-disposed to (releasing more than one egg at a time) but as far as I know, the mechanisms for identical twins are not well understood, and no-one really knows why they happen.

  • I have twin boys and on both sides there are one set of distant twins. But I heard multiples run through the mothers side...

  • My brother's wife had fraternal twins. That makes no difference to our side of the family though.

  • I have a family history and my son started as a twin(I lost the other at 8 weeks).I know I have a tendency to ovulate twice a month or to release more then one egg when I actully ovulate that is. The doctor gave me a 1 in 12 chance of having twins.

  • Yes, I have several sets of twins in my family. My grandma is an identical twin and my grandfather had three sets of twins among his siblings, as well as several cousins of my father's. My grandma always told me I would have twins and I said ha-ha no way not going to happen because I'm going to adopt but she was right after all. I adopted identical twin girls:) She was positively thrilled:)
