Ideas for a girl name.

I am not completely set on the girl name we have picked out, while I like it I am just not sure if I LOVE it. Can anyone give me ideas? I like old-fashioned type names that aren't extremely common. So no Rebecca, Sarah, Elizabeth, ect. Also while I like the name Evelyn (my Grandma's name) I can't use it because a friend of mine that is due next month is naming her daughter Evelyn.

  • Evelyn Lorraine would be really pretty....who cares if your friend is naming her child Evelyn. It's not like she owns the name. I also like Valerie.

  • "old fashion" names are very popular right now, back in 2006 when we named our daughter Amelia it wasn't even on the lists and I didn't know anyone with the name, but in the last 5 years it has made it to the top 10 I think, I know I keep hearing little kids with the name now, lol.

But I still like more old fashion names, even if they are becoming popular again. I like Norah, Ruby, Olivia, Luciana/Lucia/Lucille, Lilian, Kate/Kathryn, Emma, etc.

  • I found a website that has unusual old-fashioned names...what I think is funny is that on the top it had a list of 6 names that were just recently removed for making the most popular list....My daughter's name was the first one on the list...her name is like number 3 on the most popular list! When I chose it when I was pregnant it wasn't even in the top 50!
