Can you make a rice krispy treat out of special K?

Here's the deal - my MIL brings DD#1 an ENTIRE bag of mini-marshmallows every time she visits. I've got a stockpile here. There's no way I'm gonna feed her all that, and I've been using leftover Halloween, Christmas, & Valentine's Day candy for rewards for potty training & picking up her toys/doing chores. What else can I do with them? I don't wanna go to the store JUST for Special K. We live too far out in the sticks & if I wanna go through the hassle of getting the kids ready & lugging them out, I better have A LOT to do. :)

  • Yeah, I would say that you could. I make the treats with Cheerios and add peanut butter in.

  • You can make them with a lot of cereals - my mom made cheerio bars when I was little, same recipe, I've seen the same recipe on fruity pebbles boxes, any cereal will work! Yum.

  • I imagine you could... mini marshmallows are also goo mixed in yogurt or in hot chocolate... and on yams and butternut squash.

  • If it's cereal, you can use it. We rarely use rice krispies anymore, unless we happen to have them on hand. Have you ever seen the Milk and Cereal bars they sell at the store? They're essentially rice krispie treats, but made with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios or Golden Grahams. Same concept - use whatever cereal you have in the house. (We use cheerios a lot and frosted mini wheats)
