How do you make mashed potatoes?

From the box or from real potatoes?

  • Real potatoes, pared and thinly sliced. Boil until tender and drain. Put back in the hot pan. Add butter, milk, salt and pepper. I sometimes mash them by hand and sometimes whip them with the mixer. Either way, yummo!

  • I use both real and boxed, it just depends on what we are having and the time I have for dinner. Sundays are a real mashed potato day in my house- butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, seasoned salt.
    But during the week, sometimes I need to get dinner done in 30 min so, boxed potatoes it is.
