What would you have instead of cake?

I have 4 birthdays in the 4 weeks of each other. May 30, June 3, June 23 and June 26.

We get very sick of cake.

What would you have instead of cake?

  • We have that in April. Ryan likes death by chocolate, dad likes pie, I love apple crisp and gramps likes cake. Try and do their favorite desserts instead.

  • For my dd birthday party, I made cookie cakes. I just used packaged cookie mix, mix according to directions. Then cover a pizza pan with parchment paper and spread the entire mix over, and baked for a few min. (cannot remember exactly how long, just watch it) I put premade icing over the top of one, and then put a cookie on top, then iced a bit more. Then, added sprinkles and Happy Birthday, name, and candles. Everyone loved it! Very inexpnsive!

  • Just make cake pops or mini cupcakes (smaller portions so you don't eat so much like you do with a regular cake). Or cookie cake, trifle, etc.

  • Sounds like my husband's family with all their March birthdays! Maybe just have each person's favorite dessert? I love cherry pie and cheesecake so I would pick one of those, or maybe a cobbler? Or you could do chocolate fondue and everybody could dip strawberries, pound cake, marshmellows, etc. Rice krispie treats, cut-out cookies with frosting "stations" with different colored frostings, sprinkles, etc so everybody could decorate their own.... Yes, I have a little bit of a sweet tooth LOL

  • I do pies sometimes. My DD always requests a sweet potato pie for her birthday & my BIL always requests blueberry pie for his birthday.
