Where are the bubbles in my tortillas?

I put the flour, crisco, salt, baking powder, hot water. I let it set roll the balls cover. My 7yo rolls the balls flat. I fry on very hot heat. They don't bubble and seperate when frying. What am I doing wrong?

  • Wish i could help more, i am not familiar with making tortillas. My guess though, because it's separating...would be too much Crisco.
