Is it always this bad, or are the number of drownings worse this year?!

It seems like every night on the news there is a story about another child or teen drowning. It is so sad!

  • This year looks bad but people always act the same here in Sacramento CA.
Everyday on the news I hear about people getting trapped and they're cheap rafts popping because they don't use common sense here in Sacramento. 1. The river is FAST even though it may look calm it can carry you away. 2. The water is ICE cold! The water comes from the snow melting on the mountains. 3. No matter how much you think you are a pro wear a life jacket! (95% of them don't wear one even though they have free loaners at the parks!)
Oh and this is a big one that the college kids don't get.............. Don't drink and drive a boat or go rafting!!

  • True momavanessa. Plus river search and rescue has suffered major budget cuts In the Sacramento region.

I have taken care of too many near drowning victims...summer is the season.
