Cheaper way to store breast milk?

I have been freezing what I pump with the breast milk bags(50 bags for 10 bucks) it is soooo expensive its about the same for what I would pay for formula...BOOOOO! Can I freeze the milk in ziplock bags ? Is there any thing else I could freeze it in?

  • I would use an ice cube tray. So you can make it in to cubes and then thaw what you need. They sell milk trays but I dont see a big difference in just a regular Ice cube tray. But make sure you label it. Also once frozen store them in a freezer bag. It may take some time to get used to how many cubes it takes for a full bottle. But my sister did this and I plan to do this as well.

  • No ziploc bags... they're not sterile. Ice cube trays, though. Those work real well.
