Does medicaid cover pass bills in a different state?

Like would TENN cover any pass bills in VA??

  • It shouldn't cover any past bills and will probably only cover out of state bills if the care needed is not provided in your state.

  • Insurance only covers the bills that are incurred while you have coverage. Coverage is not retroactive. So, no, they are not covered. (Also, where I live, Medicaid is an HMO so it only covers if you see a participating provider and have a referral.)

  • No they don't. They will cover bills backdated 30 days in YOUR state only because it can take 30 days to be approved for Medicaid. Even with an HMO.
