Is this a silly reason to be upset?

My daughter's godparents are missing her first birthday party to go to a baseball game. Should I be upset or is it no big deal?

  • i would not be upset, maybe they have great seats & cannot give them up. Maybe they had them before you saved the date for the party. No reason to be upset, there will be plenty of birthdays...

  • big smile miniI could see your reasoning for being upset, but just let it go, don't bring on any extra stress for yourself.

  • I don't know if it's silly or not, but I would be upset. Did they already have the tickets or did they get them after the fact?

  • I wouldn't be too upset, it's not like your child will remember this birthday anyway (the first one is always more for the parents than the child).

  • Don't be upset. Are they good to her? Do they love her? Her birthday is just a day.

  • Well, how close are you? Logistically and emotionally speaking? I personally wouldn't be too terribly upset about it - invite them over before their game, if possible. Most games don't start until 5 or so...Most likely they bought their tickets well in advance of the game (I'm just guessing here). Don't be too upset - as long as your girl has a great 1st birthday party with those that are closest to her then that is all that matters!

  • In our family it would not be something to be upset about but I know to others godparents are a very important part of the family. Talk to them and tell them how you feel.
