  • I traveled 13 hours from florida to louisiana with my son when he was 3 weeks
on the way it was night and on the way home it was day
he slept most of the way there and back, but most at night

im not sure with a toddler but night would work since they will both be sleeping at that point so you dont have 2 fussy kids at the same time

  • When we did it (went from PA to VA so a 6 hour drive) we had the iPod with a movie on it for the toddler and plenty of toys for the infant. We packed food so we ate in the car. We stopped once for a potty break. We also traveled during naptime to they would sleep.

  • I drove a 5.5 hour drive with a 6 month old and 2.5 year old. I traveled there at night so they just slept the whole way...on the way back it took about 9 hours because I stopped every 2 hours for 30 minutes. We had a DVD player with his fave cartoon Thomas the Train and for the baby I had lots of dangly rattly entertaining toys.

  • Um, don't.

I'm serious. If you can avoid it, do so.

If not, then you have my sympathies.

See if you can take someone with you, a teenage niece or cousin or sister or something, so they can help you with the toddler when you have to take care of the baby, and the other way around.

    Good luck to you.

  • If you are not driving, I'd recommend LOTS of vodka.

Or a LOT of stops or drive while they are sleeping at night.
