  • Why does she need water at 2 months?????

  • Your doctor needs to go back to school. She does NOT need water at 2 months old. Water will fill her stomach, but has no caloric content. Breatmilk or formula is all she needs right now. If she nurses or drink formula well then she will have all the liquids she needs to stay healthy and hydrated.

  • they is no need for a 2 month old to have water.. their breast milk/formula has their daily amt of water in it already.. too much water can break down the sodium in their blood and cause seizures.. My dd was running a fever @ 4.5 months and I was advised to give her 1 oz of water ONE time a day between feedings IF I felt she was not getting enough liquid.. I personally would switch doctors.

  • She's way too young to get water. It's important they get the calories and nutrition from either breastmilk of formula. Water would just fill her up without giving her what she needs.

  • every where i have ever read says that they don't need to drink water till 6-12 months. i read that its bad for them in many ways when they are really little. i don't know what your doctors thinking. if shes on formula try adding extra water, or try glucose water. but i don't recomend giving her water unless theres a good explainable reason why.

  • The only reason I can see giving a baby that age water is if you are going to be out in the heat for a long time. And then I would only give it after her bottle. Babies really only need breastmilk or formula.
