  • 1st thing you need is getting rid of the clutter.

  • Go through and donate or toss anything you POSSIBLY can. If you come to something and you're not sure, think "have I used this in the last 6 months?" If not, toss/donate it. Be as unsentimental as you can. Buy storage bins for stuff you don't need more than once a week, and store them in your garage or attic. For everything else, get those great plastic stacking drawers from Wal-Mart or Target. You can get them in any size, for anything you need to store! They fit nicely in/under all cabinets, and they even have ones for under your bed.

  • i found that moving helps get rid of things you never knew were there. Since we all cant just up and leave, maybe start emptying room by room and putting your stuff in the middle of the room. Go through it and give it away or have a garage sale. When its time to put things back, make shelves or move things around into different cabinets. What you dont use in a whole year is probably what you will never use. If its a memorial item, frame it or some how display it.

  • Tackling a room at a time

  • Tackling one room at a time is the best, or even one drawer. You have to start somewhere. Declutter, declutter, declutter! You don't really need as much stuff as you think you do. Once you get it under control, just learn to put things away as you finish with it.
