When did your baby take his/her first steps?

My first son was 11 months when he took his first steps but didn't atart walking until 14 months. Now my 9 1/2 month old took his first steps over the weekend. Anybody else have an early walkwr of tuis age?

  • My first three walked within one week (before or after) their first birthday.

    My fourth took his first steps at almost 18 months!!!

  • DS was around 9 months or so. ODD was about 16 months, and YDD started walking at about 13 months.

  • My son didn't start till he was about 13 months or so, each baby is different. I would say that it could be a couple of weeks before walking on their own but you can take their hand and see if they start walking with you.

  • 14 months for my first daughter, she was everywhere!! My second daughter was 22 months but she was getting around the furniture and was a bum shuffler. Nobody was concerned, I was a late walker too!
