Finding Help with necessities/groceries

anyone know where I can go to find out where we can get help with our necessities/groceries and things like that? We live in Wyoming Michigan just moved here so don't know where to start. Thanks

  • I don't know if they have it there. We have "211" , just dial it, it is "First Call for Help" I don't know if they are nationwide yet.

  • Call a local church. They should be able to direct you where you need to go.

  • go to the state department, even if you dont want food stamps they can give you food boxes... at least they do here.and tell you other places that help. and i know child services has such a bad rep. but they just want to make sure kids are cared for they will or at least should help you w boxes or vouchers they might even help with electric bills and such

  • start at the human resource office (ours have employment, housing, social services, etc all under one roof) even if they cant help you they can direct you to someone who can.....
