How often to change a 3 month olds diaper...

When my Dd was young, she was in daycare starting at 6 weeks, so she got a diaper change every hour and she always needed it. My friend changes her 3 month olds diaper less often then I change my 2 year olds... before she started potty training. She's always talking about how the price of diapers is too much.. And she'll leave him in a soaked diaper (even if I tell her he's really soaked) until he poops. He only has a bowl movement once a day. He doesn't get diaper rashes from it or anything, but anytime I hold him his diaper is disgustingly mushy.

She constantly complains about him peeing on her... No wonder if she doesn't ever change his diaper! How do I bring this up without being completely rude, or should I just let her figure it out when he gets a bad rash?

  • Wow. Cost of diapers shouldn't even have to factor in. How would she like it if she was sitting in a wet diaper all day long? Her butt would be so pruned it'd hurt! If she's concerned about the price, suggest she buy washable ones (ten at the very least!) that she can wash daily. That is just cruel to let a baby sit in a dirty diaper.

Costco sells diapers cheep, as does diapers.com.

  • Wow! baby sitting in a soaking wet diaper is just too much! she is lucky that the poor little baby hasn't gotten a rash yet! I don't care how much diapers cost; I always changed my little one's diaper when ever I noticed they were wet (or pooped). That's her responsibly as a parent; like it or not! How would she like to sit in a soaking wet diaper and reek of urine all day! Shame on her!!!!
