that chocolate can lead to depression? or so I'm told

  • Hmm, I am going to take a guess and say a guy came up with that. The only way that works in this house is if we are out of chocolate we have to go drive 20 minutes to get some... that is depressing lol

  • Chocolate was considered a divine gift, a source of power, and it was used as currency by the Aztecs. I looooove dark chocolate.

  • I doubt it. Chocolate releases serotonin and phenylethylamine, as well as anandamide which mimics THC. That triggers a dopamine release and increases excitement and alertness. Theobromine is present as well. But thanks for the laugh!

  • The only time chocolate causes me depression is either when I look at the scale(lol) or I am craving it really bad and realize there is none in the house!
