  • I got a Straight Talk phone from WalMart. It's $45/month for unlimited talk, text, and browser. It's nothing fancy, but it's a phone!

  • I use Tmobile. $30 gets you 1500 minutes/texts. I've never gone over or needed anything else

  • I had one but it ate minutes like crazy and I ended up buying one of those $30 plans that I refill each month for unlimited but even that only lasted a few months.

  • I used net 10.. it's $30.00 for 300 minutes.. lasts up to two months I think?
I mean really none are completely without some for of a contract.. you can get brands like net 10 or tracfone, where you don't have to apply for a contract, but to keep the phone in service you have to purchase a minutes card every month or two.. (although I believe they have the option to buy a card that lasts up to a year for 60-100$. )

  • Most pay as you go plans cost 10-25 cents a minute... which is really a ripoff! When you add cash to the phone they usually also have an expiration date (about 3 months) so if you never use the minutes you lose them. So watch out!
