  • I bought one that I thought was usable, turns out the school demanded normal sized so homework folders can fit, so I had to buy a new one! Make sure your school doesn't have rules? Our son also wasn't allowed in Kindergarten a backpack on wheels...

  • Just take her to a store that sells them, and let her pick it out. Thats what I do. Just make sure it fits her, and will fit her stuff in it(lunch kit, books etc)
Last year dd picked out one from the childrens place, and ds picked out a transformers one. I dont like character ones, and I told him this year no more characters! lol
If you are wanting one that last many years, then LL Bean is good, or Mountain equipment co. I havnt tried those, as I like them to have new ones each year.

  • I got my son a "Cars" backpack from Wal-Mart! It cost me about $12.99. And it's miniature so it fits him just right. (He's two)

  • we need a normal sized one without wheels, we'll be going to either target or macy's (they sell them right?) for one here soon.

  • Don't bother with the smaller sized ones. Papers, folders, art projects won't fit in the small ones. Get a regular size one.

  • DH was out of work when my twins started kindergarten so $ was tight. I went to 5 Below. They lasted the year, but barely.
