  • I don't fry them, I brown them on each side in a cast iron skillet with a bit of olive oil, then finish them off in the oven. Normally I'll make coleslaw, green salad, and cornbread to go with it. For dipping - my own homemade cocktail sauce.

I don't dip them or put anything on them.

  • Chipotles mayo or aoli... sometimes even a lemony tartar sauce, cilantro lime mayo works well too.

  • I also sometimes use stove top stuffin mix and an egg to make them.

  • Yes I do. We have tuna patties a lot - I don't like going through the salmon and picking out skin and bones. I don't dip them with anything. Sides are usually mac & cheese and a veggie.

  • Yes, we use olive oil to crisp the pattie.

  • Yes.
We use cocktail sauce or ketchup for dipping.

I grew up eating salmon patties. Not sure how and when it got started but my family always served them with iron skilet-fried-potatoes and onions, cole slaw and pork and beans. Sounds a little strange but it is good!

  • I agree with Ginger0104 , I make tuna patties a lot more, but it is the same idea. I like to dip them in tartar sauce and ketchup mixed together w/a little hot sauce. Yum-o
