Can a bladder infection affect pregnancy test results?

after doing research I got mixed reviews on the subject.

  • I dont drink anything besides 100% juice and water.. I got a false positive and I dont know how or why? :/

  • Are you sure it's a false positive? Those are very rare. However there are some other reason besides pregnancy that HCG would show up in a body.

  • I've never heard of a false positive. Especially not from drinking soda or juice! That's just a bizarre idea! Everything I've ever read has said there's only one thing that can make a pregnancy test positive, and that's pregnancy. I'm curious now!

  • @ Adelicious I had 3 positives and a negative test afterwards. I went to the doctor today for a blood test. The urine test I took their was negative as well..so no indenial here. I wish i was pregnant!!

  • But the blood test may show something more. You may have diluted out what little hormone was there by drinking something before you went to the doctor. ANYWAYS I hope you get it all figured out soon.

  • Oh and just to share I went in for a UTI infection January 30, 2002. My urine test said negative. By Febrary 3, 2002 i went in to the hospital because I was sick and my blood test said positive. So even a few days can make a difference.
