  • Actually, you should also add, "preserves or marmalade"!
I prefer jams. Jam tends to be softer, and I love the seeds (good fiber!) and the bits of fruit in it. Jelly is made from only the juice of the fruit - no real fruit bits at all. Home-made Jelly is softer and easy to spread. Store-bought jelly is too firm because they skimp on the juice and add too much thickener. Jelly is REALLY easy to make though! You could buy some fruit pectin, and follow the directions. Your first batch might be just as firm as the store-stuff, and your second batch might not ever thicken, but with practice you can make it exactly the way you like it, and for a fraction of the cost. Also, home-made jellies make good gifts! If you buy your sugar in bulk, and stock up on juice when it goes on sale, you'll save even more on your jelly.

  • I forgot to mention:
    I prefer:
    Blackberry Jam
    Grape Jelly
    Peach Preserves
    Strawberry anything!
    Don't like marmalade at all.

  • Jerry Jordan's Jelly Jar and Jam begin that way! (Sorry, I had to get it out).

I like it all . . jelly, jam, preserves . . yum yum.

  • Jelly is hard because they use too much pectin & sugar. I make homemade and it always spreads easy. I prefer preserves/jam, homemade of course.

  • Now we have to be politically correct when asking questions too? I'm not asking questions to cover everyone on CM tastes and differences. I'm just asking a damn simple question to get points?. WTH? @LorelieSieja> Dont tell people what they should and shouldn't do. It's taking the fun out of everything.
