Do you have experience seeing a nutritionist while pregnant?

How often did you go? What were the appointments like? Did you go during your whole pregnancy? Are you seeing one now? Thanks!

  • My midwife was a fabulous nutritionist.... She put me on a uber-high protein.no sugar/no grain plan my last trimester to curb my crazy weight gain and help prevent high blood-pressure and it worked amazingly. Baby was born at a healthy 7.5+ lbs, and I didn't gain any more weight...(though the high bloodpressure did come back with a vengance at 39 weeks).

  • I had one meeting with a nutritionist during my first pregnancy due to gestational diabetes. It lasted about 45 minutes.

  • I had two meetings during my 2nd pregnancy, due to gestational diabetes. First was about 45 minutes, the 2nd was about 30 minutes. She was really informative & I'd say it was a good experience ;o)

  • I had to go see one with 2 of my pregnancys. Im a vegetarian and dont eat any kind of meat or eggs or fish. So my dr wanted to me to see one. It wasnt bad, they just reccomend foods for you to eat. Most times if you arent gaining right or have diabetes or a vegetarian is why you see a specialist.
