You can even make your own bed. You buy a twin mattress at Walmarts, or a mattress store. You don't even need a "bed" for the mattress, although if you get mattress and box springs, then for about $30 more, you can get the metal frame with wheels that you set the mattress set on. You don't need a footboard or headboard. You don't really need the "bed" part at all.
There are hundreds (too many!) of options when it comes to beds. What are you looking for? Something fun? There are twin beds now that are built as lofts, with attached slides! Something for storage? Crew- style bunks can have built in dressers. Something funky? You can build your bed into a wall unit, with plywood and bright paint colors. I saw one attic that had been remodeled for ten children. There were seven built-in bunks in an L shape, then a full-size bed in a small room for the three girls.
Your options are only limited by your imagination.
