My 11 month old isn't eating at all.

it's been going on since yesterday, she gets 3 bottles of formula a day and 3 solid meals +snacks. she's not eating her formula (which she normally has 8 ounces at a time) and she's not eating her solid meals. she's not a picky eater, she loves pretty much anything but she just won't eat. this morning she had 2 ounces of her bottle and then for lunch i made her an egg (which is her favorite) and she just doesn't want to eat. i gave her a pile of Cheerios (which she loves) and she only ate 1 or 2. i don't know what's going on with her. she's not acting sick, she's being her normal, happy, playful self. it's not teething, she has 8 teeth and never lost her appetite with any of those. should i call her doctor?

  • I would definantly call her dr and just ask. Make sure she's wetting all her diapers and everything... My dd stopped drinking her bottle about that time but she still ate regular food to keep up. Made it really easy to get rid of the bottle but it's really odd your dd won't eat anything else.

  • She may have 8 teeth but those molars could be moving. Do your best to keep her hydrated. If drinking stops and she starts to show signs of dehydration, take her to the hospital immediately. Chances are, she's fine but keep an eye on her.

  • It may be a virus coming on, or upset stomach, or her ears, teeth, several things it could be or even sinus drainage making her belly sick... I wouldn't worry as long as she is keeping some things down and not going completely cold turkey... kids always have funny eating patterns and sometimes go days without eating like we think they should. But if a fever or other signs show up- trip to the dr. or treat the virus or whatever.

  • she acts a certain way when she's teething, you can just tell she's teething and she's not acting that way. she's been eating whole (not mashed) table food for 4 months so i know what she likes/eats, we really only give her the bottle for hydration, she gets juice too with her solid meals, but she has not been wanting to eat anything for about 24 hours

  • Hmmm, maybe she is sick and just isn't acting sick, some babies just have a great attitude even when sick. I would call get ped just to inquire!
