  • The pain alone should make you go. It would for me.

  • What is it? An ingrown nail? I would soak it in warm water, and take an ibuprofen to help with the swelling.

  • Mom-2-3-Girlz-should I try to take care of it myself?

  • I have done my own at home. If the nail has dug into your skin, it could be infected to the point where you can drain puss from it, and while completely gross, it does help take some of the pressure off.

  • It is sore and swollen all around the area. Is there any way I could numb it? It is bright red to a purple color, not the nail, the area around it.

  • So this is a completely embarrassing family story, but my sister and I were doing her ingrown toenail once, my mother produced a bottle of um..."male" numbing cream that helped. Maybe anything you can find with benzocaine? I know they used to make a numbing spray for after a sunburn that could help? Ice maybe?

  • How do I actually get the nail out? I have never had this problem before.
