How old were your kids when you first took them to a fireworks show

my daughters 9 months old and we were planning on going to a concert in the park followed by a firework display. I was wondering how old other moms kids were when they first went out.

  • My daughter was about 18 months old and the noise scared her so much we left. She could never stand noisy things. We also had to leave an Air Show once when she was 3.The jets scared her.
    I don't blame her--I can't handle noise either. I cover my ears.

  • my dd's birthday is July 8th, so the first time she went, it was just a few days before her first birthday! She couldn't even talk, but so mesmorized by the fireworks and so dissapointed when it ended. She was trying to make us understand that she wants more. It was hillarious.

  • We didnt go see fire-works but where we where at (vacation at my sisters) we could set them off ourself so my BIL & DH got some good stuff that was kinda big & loud. DD was 9mo & enjoyed it for the most part..

But some kids never like fireworks until they are much older..

If I where to go somewhere Id sit as far back as possible.

  • I didn't take my kids until they were older than 1.. but, that said, there are neighbors that set off fireworks here ALL the time, and it never seems to bother my infant.
