Just wondering, did anyone had back labor?

I did for both my kids and I still get back pain from it even though I didn't have an epidural for neither delivery. Anyone else have this problem?

  • Not myself, but have been there for them.
There are things you can do to prevent posterior-positioned babies and help with back pains.
And there are a few things to do in labor, if needed.
Are you taking classes, have a birth doula, etc?

  • Back pain postpartum *because of* the baby's positioning?
Have you been to the chiropractor?

  • Oh yes. I hear that if the baby is face up instead of face down back labor is more common because more of the pressure gets put on your back than your uterus. My daughter turned in the birth canal to face up. I always knew when a contraction was about to happen because I would get horrible back pain and then it would slowly move around to the front. Once I got the epidural I felt amazing!

  • I'm not pregnant. I had back labor for both my deliveries with both my children and was wondering if anyone else still had back pain because of such strong back labor contractions because I still do.

  • I am thinking maybe relaxin could be the culprit.
    Same types of pains?
    How far postpartum are you?
Did you have any back issues pre/during pregnancy?

  • I had my first child almost 5 years ago and my second child 5 months ago and the pain got worse now, especially when I get my period. And my back did hurt very much while I was pregnant both times.
