  • All states with fiscal issues will have this happen; where is the money, who overspent or what is the reason for all of these shortages? Instead, we the people, are supposed to just accept it and ask NO questions. If there was no money to fund new salaries, raises or entitlement programs, then why did the states and Fed. GVT. continue to do so? They had to have known that they were overextending their budgets, why are tax payers supposed to just accept it and pay for their "writing bad checks" mentality? I don't see any GVT officials, etc; not taking their vacations, like the Justices, who just took 3 months off. None of them care that we can't afford their expenses, their entitlements are all that matters. No worries, they will figure out a way to take more money from tax payers, to pay for All of their and everybody else's entitlements. This Admin; the Elite, have deemed us, as the ones, who can do without...

It happened in 2005 and many other states have had it happen over the last few decades but they came through it alright. We will get through it this time too. Our Governor is being strong, not giving in.

Your gov is a putz and will cave.

  • Our Governor is being strong, not giving in.

That is exactly how we feel about the Federal debt and deficit and the Republicans holding strong and not giving in.

  • Many states and the USA have shut down over the past few decades .....here's history: Its not just THIS administartion....

Since 1981, there have been five government shutdowns. Four of the last five government shutdowns went largely unnoticed by anybody but the federal employees affected. In the last one, however, the American people shared the pain.
