  • Invite your friends over and ask them to bring their own drinks and movies and then everyone shares and takes turns watching the movies. Check your local library to see if they have passes to certain places. Our library has a pass to all the state parks and to the zoo. There are many things that you can do for free or for very cheap. It all depends on your interests.

  • Go to the park or the beach. The local botanical gardens. Browse Op shops for bargains if you have some money but not much.

  • We do girls' night in at different friends' homes. (whenever the kids are away....) Like Jeremysmom said, everyone brings their own drinks, rent a movie for free from the library, & pop some popcorn. Check your local community calendar for free concerts or other things that peak your interest!

  • i go to google and type "free stuff to do in "your city". I found a lot of parks and places to go for free, but I also found a lot of places to go that aren't that expensive...like $2 or $3 so if you did have some extra money one week, you can do those things you never thought you could because they are too expensive. Also, if you and/or your spouse work for a big company in your area, call places you want to go and ask if they give discounts for employees of that company. Also, I live near branson, missouri, and if you live in certain counties, on certain days you get in free or at a huge discount! some of the local theme parks in branson are only charging $25 if you go after 5pm instead of the normal $65-$70 it normally would costand they extend their hours by a couple hours. with young kids, that works out great for us because they could not handle being there more than a couple hours but I am not wasting $ by leaving

  • Check your local pool ours has a free family swim night for a 2 hour period every week. They also do a movie night at the pool. Our library has an indoor theater and shows up to date movies once a week. They also have crafts day for kids and adults. We go to our local park and have a cookout there instead of at home just to break the monotony. like the ladies above suggested we also have a weekly gathering with friends for movie day or game day.
