Oh Goody! China has banned the use of lye and boric acid as food additives! I feel safer, how about you?

I've been very careful about what toys and candies I've purchased for my daughter this year. How about you?

And in case you can't tell, this question is dripping in sarcasm.

  • Pretzels are generally given a lye bath, been that way for hundreds of years and boric acid is a component in insecticides used on conventional produce... I guess they're ahead of the US on this one.

  • Lye and Boric Acid? Wow, how do those people survive over there? No wonder nobody has kidneys there that work.

  • I think they need to consider banning lead as would think...of course I suspect they've used it so much the ppl over there must be immune to its effects!
