  • The best I have been able to do is to get my son to help pick up his messes! And that only works sometimes :-)

  • We had to put the messier toys like our sons cars, the letters, potato heads, ect in tubs with lids. That way, they can have one tub out, and they have to pick it up before they get another one out.

  • Let him be young! And it's a good opportunity to teach him to clean up after himself. My Son DESTROYS His room, in the toys everywhere aspect..and He cleans it every time, has since not long after He turned 3 (He is 4 now).

  • Make it fun to clean up too. Do it together until he knows for sure what needs to be done.

  • If you have another room for toys and playing, use it, and make his room for only sleeping. If not, just don't put anything breakable where he can reach it. These toddler years will end someday even if it seems like that's gonna be forever...
