Yes I am an Atheist, no I don't...

I do not speak for all Atheist, but I believe these are some common misconceptions and concepts...

I do not Believe in God or the Devil
I am not mad at God (because I don't believe there is a god)
I do not hate Christians or anyone else, unless they are bad people.
I am not afraid of hell or worried about Heaven (because I don't believe they exists)
I am not concerned with changing a persons faith.
I am at peace with my journey and hope others find their own peace.

Did I miss anything?

  • lol - this has pretty much always been my understanding of what an Atheist believes / feels.

I'm not an Atheist - I'm a Christian. That is what I believe / feel. I hold my beliefs very near to my heart, and feel very strongly about it, that I am right. I ALSO understand 100% that as much as I feel and believe the way I do, that others - who do not feel and believe as I do - ALSO hold THEIR feelings and beliefs just as near and dear to them, and that they ALSO believe they are right.

If I want my beliefs respected by them, even if they disagree, then I need to be respectful of theirs - even when I disagree.

Several of my friends believe differently than I do - some are Christian and we disagree on theological points, and some are completely different faiths - Pagan, Wiccan, and Atheist, to name a few.

    Mutual respect is the key.

  • I have no beef with those who are athiest. And good news for a very well done study it points to Jews being the most happiest of people but a close second (drum roll)....athiests. So you are statistically fu of more true joy than Chritians. I found it very interesting. Joy to you and your family! May you spread your happiness to those around you :)

  • We also aren't mad at or hurt by the church. We're just normal people living our lives without need for something supernatural.

  • Every one should be entitled with their own beliefs. So, I would say no... You didn't miss anything! :)

  • you know what post cracked my ass up? The one where some girl was asking the atheists why they don't kill people, rob them, do drugs etc since they don't believe they are going to hell. I was like, really?!

  • \ˌsü-pər-ˈna-chə-rəl, -ˈnach-rəl\
    Definition of SUPERNATURAL
1: of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe; especially : of or relating to God or a god, demigod, spirit, or devil

Not sure how that is condescending or offensive if you're referring to a god.

  • Huh? Maybe I just haven't gotten enough sleep lately, but I am not understanding. Gods, devils, anything like that, it's all the supernatural world. I don't think anyone would argue that. The only question anyone really has is if the supernatural world is real or not.
