What is it that makes people cheat on their s/o or spouse?

If its a problem they themselves have (unrelated to their spouse or s/o) then what issue is it they have? Are they just jerks or is there something going on mentally with them?

  • Usually cheating is not about sex believe it or not. Its about an emotional connection, the excitement of being with someone new that nobody knows about. Generally they are just jerks.

  • They are selfish and lack self control.........but I guess each "cheater" could have his/her own reason for cheating. Gah, whatever the reason, I'm sure if they say it was worth it, then they aren't worth it.

  • Women cheat because they are done with the relationship. Men cheat because they feel like they are missing/needing something that they are not getting.

  • Most often I think it is immaturity & selfishness. People who cheat are always trying to recapture that feeling you get in a "new" relationship.
