What ever happened to being courteous and thoughtful?

We were coming home last night from watching the fireworks and OMG the ignorant people in the other cars. There were almost 4 accidents and that was while we were trying to get out of the parking lot.

And it was people driving SUV's that were being pushy and shoving their way in between cars were there wasn't enough room.

What is it with drivers now-a-days that they have to act this way? Even witnessed someone getting out of their vehicle and starting to yell at another driver because they wouldn't let this other person in.

What has happened to courteous and being thoughtful instead of rude and ignorant?

  • I noticed this last night too. We let out a car on the main road in front of us and the next driver in line after them nearly ran them over to be able to go out too. Then, they were texting and not paying attention and holding up the line sevearl times. I think this is what comes of being a society that worries too much about self esteem and not enough about common courtesy - we have created generations of gimmies.

  • As society changes, so do the people that live in it. :(
I find myself disappointed in people multiple times daily!
If we all let love guide us nobody would have to wish for world peace, it would be the norm.

  • There's been a real increase in this as well as bullying. I think that we're teaching kids and trying to be advocates for our needs and this is a side-effect of what been happening.

  • Everyone wants everything in an instant.
    Think about it:
Automactic doors, no need to wait for the older lady to open it for her, just push pass her the door will open
No need for dinner together, waiting for a home cooked meal. There is fast food on every corner
No need for real conversation, there is text, email and sites like this one
No need it saving for something, working hard for something, we have credit, we want it now & get it now
This could go on and on!!!
Think about how technology, has made our life easier but has also changed who people are....
