  • I try not to eat after dinner. We eat dinner anytime between 6 and 7:30.

Personally, I think the "tricks" can only get a person so far. Yes, you process food slightly differently when you are sleeping, but just changing the time of day that you are eating isn't going to make that big of a difference in your weight loss goals as will calorie/fat/fiber counting, portion control, and exercise.

  • lol i guess i asked my question wrong... its more of when should i eat dinner and have the "okay" to go to bed? usually, i have a really late night dinner, around 9 or 10, then crash out soon afterwards-- which cant be good on my weight loss attempt

  • There's a new school of thought that calories are calories...if you're within your calories for the day it shouldn't affect your weight loss. If your schedule doesn't allow for you to eat until late, try keeping your last meal light and eat your largest meal mid day instead. That way you're not going to bed with that really full feeling.

  • The problem with eating late has ore to do with the kids of foods we tend to eat and overeating. Like Mom_2_cuties said, as long as you're within your calories for the day limits, you're fine to eat anytime. You're best off to spread those calories out over the course of the day, and a late snack, as long as it's not a late night box of cereal, you'll be fine.

  • Eating late at night doesn't make you fat. Eating too much does. But it is important to realize that a lot of people mindlessly over eat as they get more and more tired.

  • nothing big after nine
but something small like a piece of toast with jelly is actually good for your serotonin levels and puts you in a happy peaceful sleep ;)
