Is it possible to have a kidney infection without having any signs of a bladder infection to start with?

I woke up this morning and went pee and just as I was done peeing my back began to hurt horribly. I am aching right about where my kidneys would be. I didn't have any signs of a bladder infection or anything like that. I am going to make a doc appt as soon as they open, but I just thought this was a bit weird. My urine was very dark which makes me believe I need more water...anyone ever experience this? (29 weeks pregnant)

  • I've had a kidney infection twice, the 1st time when I was about 10. I was vomitting with a fever in addition to the kidney pain. The 2nd time when I was 20 and it was just the pain.
