Switch schools before school starts? or wait?

we are suppose to be moving to a house in a different school district. we are waiting on the income verification. we were approved as far as back ground check and references goes so im almost positive we got the house. we find out for sure next week. so IF we get this place should we go ahead and switch schools and drive them back and forth until we get moved? with slow as things are going we may not move til September, we have to give our current land lord a 30 notice which i wont do until i get an absolute yes on that house. the school is just on the other side of town, roughly 5 miles away. school starts in august, so would you drive them back and forth until moved in? i think it would be easier on the kids if they start a new school same time as other students.

•'s a pain to switch in the middle or even just a lil bit after school starting..i did that one yr n it was a hassle. i would say get it done will be worth it...they can get settled and not have to worry for a month.

  • If you can resonable do it, I'd drive them back and forth to their new school when the new school year starts. It's easier on the kids to be set at the beginning of a school year.

  • Before. It would be easier. If they start school then they will have new friendships then all of a sudden they have to move and be the new kids in class and make new friends.

  • I would. Switching schools would be harder on the kids.

  • My son started 1st grade in Sept. We moved in Nov. He had a hard time adjusting to his new school. PART of that was because he was getting the label of a bully (long story, partially deserved) at his old school, so he was kind of angry and defensive from all that. Once he settled in though, he was a MUCH better behaved kid in his new school.
